ARC2012 Asia-Pacific “Outstanding” Say Delegates
Feedback rates it “best ever inflight conference and exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region”
The second annual Asia-Pacific Airline Retail Conference (ARC) took place this week at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. Twice the size of the 2011 event, the two-day conference and exhibition was attended by over 260 travel retail industry delegates and supported by 50 sponsors and exhibitors.
The event’s success cements ARC as the most focused networking platform for airline buyers and suppliers in the world – supporting the reputation of the well-established London show – now in its sixth year.
The Official Partners of the event were DFASS Group, Diageo and Scorpio Distributors, which sponsored the Gala Dinner at the Grand Hyatt in Singapore.
The 25 excellent speakers included Azran Osman-Rani, CEO of AirAsia X; Vimal Rai, Executive Director of Inflight Sales Group; Rakhita Jayawardena, President of King Power Traveler; Con Korfiatis, Vice-President of Garuda Citilink; and Deepak Talwar, Director of Indian Duty Free Services.
Winners of the first ever Airline Retail Awards (AR.Awards) for the Asia-Pacific region included Singapore Airlines, DFASS, Scorpio, Patron Spirits and Buckley Jewellery. Airline Retail Personality of the Year was awarded to Anna Brownell, from Etihad Airways.
Initial feedback from delegates and exhibitors has been outstanding, with all feedback forms (received so far) rating both the conference content and suppliers’ exhibition either “useful” or “extremely useful”, with several delegates commenting that the show was “outstanding”.
